The highly-anticipated 10th anniversary edition of the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft sportswear gets underway on 1st January 2016 with a sprint prologue in Lenzerheide (SUI).

The Tour not only features breathtaking and unforgettable sports moments, but also many side events.

Here is a short overview of what the fans and spectators on site can look forward to:

On New Year’s Eve in Lenzerheide, fans will get the chance to meet and greet the athletes at the official FIS Tour de Ski team presentation at 17:30 CET at the Cross-Country stadium.

On New Year’s Day, the sprint free quarterfinals begin at 15:55 CET. Right afterwards, spectators can jump on a shuttle to the village where the famous annual New Year’s Day fireworks start at 18:00 at Lenzerheide Lake.

In Oberstdorf (GER), children and families should visit the Skitty World Nordic, which is part of the FIS SnowKidz programme. The "Kids Corner" at the Cross-Country stadium is open to kids of all ages and a fun obstacle course with many exciting elements will be waiting for the kids. Well experienced staff from the German Ski Association and the Allgäu region will provide kids valuable tips.

Furthermore, a special designated area close to the race course will be reserved just for kids to let the young fans cheer on their idols on the course.

In Val di Fiemme (ITA) both active and culinary fans will find something to their liking. Already for the sixth time, amateur Cross-Country skiers will have a unique chance to experience the emotional Final Climb of Tour de Ski in front of more than 20, 000 spectators, a few minutes before the World Cup athletes – that is the “Rampa con i Campioni”. Entries are still open until 4th January 2016 with a limited number of 200 participants.

Meanwhile, a perfect combination of Cross-Country Skiing and Italian food offers the Tour del Gusto 2016, a great party that will animate the Final Climb. There will be six Tour del Gusto stations along the famous Olimpia track accompanied by folklore music.
